Keen for a leisurely Sunday ride before the silly season kicks off? Then why not join the Club for separate TS and GS rides through the Hilltops farmlands for lunch (wood-fired pizza), on a farm, by the creek, at Bulla Creek Brewing Co. (approx. 350 km return)? https://bullacreekbrewing.com.au/

If a shorter ride’s more your thing, then why not join for the first leg through to Boorowa for coffee (200 km return)?

Outbound TS and GS: Ex. Ampol/Caltex Foodary, Gold Creek (Nicholls) to Boorowa (coffee), then:

• TS (mostly)– Murringo Rd to Young, Olympic Hwy, Scenic Rd to Monteagle, then Jerrybang Lane to Bulla Creek Brewing Co (172km):  Google Maps 

Note:  Jerrybang Lane isn’t sealed – it’s a 9km stretch of good, compact, level gravel with no tight corners, washouts or major corrugations - last ridden early October when dry (I’ll be taking a road bike (RS) through).

• GS – Murringo Gap Rd, Chews Lane, Olympic Hwy to Bendick Murrell (all sealed) to pick up the dirt/gravel roads – Taylors Rd, Scenic Rd, Tout’s Lookout (surely a photo-stop here?), Iandra Rd (sealed), Rosewood Lane, then Jerrybang Lane to Bulla Creek Brewing Co (168km):  Google Maps

Note: Avoid Rosewood Lane in wet weather - bog hole terrain (fine when dry)!

Return: Each to their own and to decide on the day with the shortest routes back being the outbound routes.  

Approximately 350 km return on a mix of main and secondary roads.

Fuel: Available in Boorowa and Young.

Meeting Point: Meet fuelled and ready to go at the Ampol/Caltex Foodary, Gold Creek (Nicholls) for a prompt 09:00 departure.

Register if you're interested in coming so I can let the Brewery know likely numbers for lunch (noting the current booking is for 10 (it’s a smaller venue). Please email rides@bmwmcc.au if you plan to meet the group on the way or at the Brewery, or head elsewhere after coffee in Boorowa.

For those joining the ride along the way, or making their own way to the Brewery, proposed meeting points (with best guess times) are:

• Ampol/Caltex Foodary, Gold Creek (Nicholls) - leaving 09:00;
• Boorowa Bakery (or similar cafe), Marsden St, Boorowa (coffee stop) – arriving 10:10, leaving by 10:40; and
• Bulla Creek Brewing Co., 820 Jerrybang Lane, Monteagle - arriving 11:50 (lunch booking @12:00).
