Official BMW Club Member Club
https://bmwcic.org/
One of the Club’s objectives is to improve members riding and motorcycling allied skills and your Club will sponsor you to complete a recognised rider training or nationally recognised first aid course.
You can only claim the training sponsorship having completed your initial 12 month membership and then having renewed for a 2nd year. After that you can only make one claim per financial year.
This is a Member driven activity where you book, pay and attend one of the listed rider or recognised first aid training programs and on completion present your training ‘completion certificate’ and provider's 'tax invoice' in your name to the Treasurer who will reimburse you the cost of the course up to $100 (maximum) for rider training and $50 (maximum) for first aid course cost. There is no reimbursement for travel, accommodation, meals or entertainment.
This program is at the sole discretion of the Committee and President sole arbiter of any dispute as to whether a course is or is not approved. If you are in doubt, then email and have the President approve/disprove your course subsidy before enrolling. This decision is no reflection on the relevance or validity of your chosen training provider or the course itself.
The Committee has agreed the following rider training providers and courses. Please send the details to the President (President@bmwmcc.au) if you find another one for consideration.
If not for you, then why not for a fellow rider or member of your family or that unknown stranger. Your Club will sponsor you to complete Provide First Aid HLTAID011.
"Application: This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings."
This unit of competence is offered by many community and private organisations, some have good intentions but are not accredited. So please ensure that they are accredited to deliver this training for this unit of competence. Accredited trainers are listed on the Australian government website https://training.gov.au/Training/Details/HLTAID011
For the Club financial year the combined rider and first aid subsidy program is capped at 20 members. The Committee will keep you up to date on how many member claims have been made and if you are concerned please email the Treasurer@bmwmcc.au before booking your course.
